Benoît Bénichou studied music (piano and singing) at the Conservatoire de Nice and musicology at Nice-Sophia-Antipolis University. He studied theatre and body expression at the International School Jacques Lecoq in Paris.

 

He has staged many shows like Trouble in Tahiti/L’Enfant et les Sortilèges by Bernstein/Ravel for the Opera National de Nancy-Lorraine and El Retablo de Maese Pedro by De Falla and Brundibár by Krása for the Théâtre de Caen, L’Opera Seria by Gassmann for the New European Opera, L’Etoile by Chabrier, Geneviève de Brabant by Offenbach, Svadba by Sokolovic for National Montpellier Opera, then Die Fledermaus for the Festival d’O in Montpellier and Montpellier National Opera, Dido and Aeneas with Catherine Kollen Montpellier, Dido and Aeneas aux côtés de Catherine Kollen and Croesus by Keiser for for l’Arcal at the Théâtre de l’Athénée in Paris and a french tour, La Veuve Joyeuse and Orphée aux Enfers for Nice Opera House, and imagined the scenography and visuals for a Friday Nights with Yury Revich / Unicef Gala at the Theater an der Wien. 

Recently, he designed the visuals for a Twelve seasons concert at the Berlin Philharmonie  with the violinist Yury Revich, and he created the video mapping for Die Zauberflöte for the Gstaad Festival and Festival Berlioz in La Côte Saint André. 

He realized with his Collective TragédieMonstre a show based on Brundibár by H. Krása at Théâtre de Caen.  He is the owner of the Théâtre du Minotaure/Salle Berlioz (Béziers-France). 

He realized a huge installation about the 4 seasons for the National Montpellier Opera.

He is also teaching theatre at the Department Supérieur pour Jeune Chanteurs at the CRR Rue de Madrid in Paris.
